How I work: Beyond Tutoring
Maths coach
- Not just a one-hour slot: I guide revision between lessons and keep momentum, so there is steady progress and less last-minute stress.
- Targeted homework marked outside lesson time: you get specific feedback without using lesson time, so lessons focus on teaching and higher value practice.
- Exam technique and time management: plan, pace, and pick up method marks, so you convert knowledge into marks on the day.
- How to check answers: concrete routines (back-substitution, estimate checks, units, graph shape) so errors are caught fast and confidence grows.
Human over AI
- AI can show steps; I diagnose misconceptions, so you stop repeating the same mistakes.
- I build habits that stick and transfer between topics, so new questions feel familiar not random.
- I prioritise topics for your exam board and manage timing and method marks, so revision time targets the biggest mark gains.
- Families value a consistent human they can message anytime: I respond quickly, so you are not stuck between lessons.
Tools I use
- Zoom or Microsoft Teams for live lessons: clear audio, screen share, and a stable classroom feel from home.
- Shared OneNote: your notes, examples, and homework are in one place and available 24/7, so nothing is lost and everything is searchable.
- Interactive writing in OneNote: you write during lessons and I see your working in real time, so I can correct missteps immediately.
- Custom exam-question builder: I generate targeted practice sets in seconds, so you get the exact questions you need with quick feedback and measurable progress.

What I Need
Tuition is not the same as self-study. A one-hour lesson is not a one-hour replacement for personal practice. Lessons unlock understanding, but progress sticks when students consolidate between sessions.
- Students: be prepared to do the homework I set after each lesson and share it with me to mark.
- Parents: please help keep the routine on track if life gets busy. I am happy to provide updates as often as needed.
- We succeed fastest when lessons plus short, regular practice work together.
